Global Positioning System. Sebuah sistem navigasi, terdiri dari dua lusin satelit, yang memancarkan sinyal melalui radio ke penerima elektronik GPS. Sinyal-sinyal tersebut secara akurat menentukan posisi (longitude, latitude, dan altitude) secara real-time. Sejak beroperasi tahun 1993, GPS menjadi perangkat yang penting sebagai alat navigasi di laut, udara, maupun darat.
